Niche recruitment company Thornhvac has recruited two Yorkshire school leavers to its team as part of its expansion plans.
The Leeds-based company serves the heating, ventilation and air conditioning sectors and is looking to develop into new areas of building and construction and grow its team.
Hollie Slater, 19, joins from Cathedral Academy, Wakefield, and Pierce Lindley, 18, attended Temple Moor High School, Leeds, before taking on his new role with the company.
Director Jason Thornhill said: “We are delighted to welcome Hollie and Pierce to the team as trainee recruitment consultants and the intention is that they will enroll on our Management Degree Apprenticeship, which we run in association with Anglia Ruskin University and the Open University.
“The four-year degree apprenticeship is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute and allows school leavers to study for a degree whilst earning a salary and gaining practical skills in a real working environment.
“We are pleased to be pioneering this scheme and supporting school leavers as they develop their career with us.
“Hollie and Pierce join at a time when demand for HVAC skills is high and as our own business looks to expand into new markets.
“As a growing business with a structured training programme we are well-placed to provide school leavers with a viable alternative to university and a chance to earn while they learn,” he added.
